If I am the one who is in control of staging of the play, in order to show both the similar and the differences between Montague and Capulet, I will show in different ways. For costuming, I probably will let Montague and Capulet dress similar with expensive clothes to show their wealthiness at the first time, as soon as they realize that they are wearing the same, they will start to forsake the brand or style, because both of them do not want to be the same as their enemies, the idea of costuming can change while the story is building up. The important point is two families have to compare everything to each other. For staging, two families will have same amount areas of land to show their similarity, but how to show their differences at the same time? We have to kind of calculate, for example. the Montague has more of industry factory on their land, but the Capulet has more business factory on their land. They are all powerful families, but on different fields with their own business which still will have a lot of arguments. For style of speaking, they should sounds haughty and mean to each other, but the ironic part is they should use proper languages. Also, they should take there own family’s symbol with them, in this way they can show there power and wealth anytime to anyone they want, which I think is pretty much what they will really do to let people know that they are the best.
