I'm in the group with Grace, David C, and Danny. I will play Friar Lawrence in our group. So, basically, our group's adaptation idea is that we have four characters, Romeo, Mercutio, Tybalt, and Friar Lawrence. In our version of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is a psychopath, Mercutio is a patient that has a weird sickness, Tybalt is the nurse, and Friar Lawrence is the doctor. So, the story is saying that Romeo a psychopath imagines everything with Juliet, because he got reject from Roseline. Which means he is so sad that he had the mental problem. So, Friar Lawrence is Romeo's doctor, but also his friend. Lawrence knows everything about Romeo, and Romeo tells Lawrence everything. Lawrence is trying to not hurt Romeo 's mind again, so, even Lawrence knows the truth, he decided not to tell Romeo. If he told Romeo, it would be even worse for his condition. We have four scenes in our adaptation, and I think scene 4 is the most important scene for Friar Lawrence. In our scene 4, it happened between Romeo and Lawrence in Lawrence's office. So, the story goes like, Romeo knows that "Juliet" dies at the end of scene 3, so he goes to Lawrence to ask why doesn't he tell him. Scene 4 begins with a paragraph that Lawrence is telling Romeo all the truth in an angry way, and telling him to stop being a fool, and get through all the troubles with love issues. Lawrence is shouting at Romeo really loudly and angrily, and telling him everything that had happened to him between these days. So, Lawrence's emotion here should be had no alternative but really anxious for Romeo, because Lawrence as a doctor thinks his condition is getting worse and worse. As a friend of a Romeo, he should be more worried about Romeo, and does not want to see Romeo suffered and tortured by a simple love problem. I think this scene is important because this is where everything got clarified, and all the confusing parts are figured out through the storyline going on.
