"Seize the Day" is a poem that tells people to enjoy every day and remember everything that makes you both happy and sad even if they are small details that you don't usually notice. "Seize the Day" is a long poem. However, there are still few parts, lines and sentences stand out to me. After reading those specific lines, I made a lot of connection to my own life. 

For example, the line "look for small revelations all day" stands out to me especially.  Instead of including this line in a stanza or with other lines, the author wrote it as an individual stanza. I think the author made this line stand out because she wanted to emphasize it since it connects to everything else in the poem, it's the main point of this poem. I am interested in this line because it's a simple thing to do and at the same time significant to seizing the day. It makes me think of times when small things make my day, like when I notice new flower buds growing on trees or when a stranger is smiling foolishly at their phone. It connects to the poem because the rest of the stanzas are just examples of how you can look for small revelations in our lives every day. And the purpose of this line is to tell people how they can make the most out of every day by looking at things that are usually normal or even boring, in a different perspective, which is the whole point of the poem. 

Another line that caught my eye is "remember this day is a gift" in the fourth stanza and I think it is interesting because of the author's word choice. The author made this line stand out in the poem by writing it as if it was a reminder; it feels like a casual thing you would hear every day but also unusual because you don't. She compared a day to a gift, and the word "gift" implies that it is special or precious, like every day is gifted to you and you should cherish it. This line makes me think about how many days that have been wasted because of my attitude towards the days, it also makes me think about how sad it is that a lot of people I know hate the thought of going through another day in school or work. This line connects to the overall meaning of this poem because it implies that every day you live is a special day and you should not waste it. And to do that, you will have to make the most out of your day by noticing and taking in every small little detail, both the good ones and the bad ones. Which relates to the overall meaning of the poem because to seize every day, you need to have a good attitude towards your day, and to do that you need to remember that every day is gifted.
