In my opinion, theaters are the only thing in the world that people can see a not real stuff happens in real life. It is a way that let a people's dream come true, no matter for the audiences or actors. For audiences, they get to see the things from their head move into a real stage, although it is still not real because people are acting. But, at least they can see things happen in front of them. For actors, they might also have that imaginary story going on in their heads, so they will present, act, perform their own interpretations of that character. They will definitely do their best to act out the characters' characteristics and other specialties. The importance for audiences to watch would be quietness and respectfulness. For example, don't talk to disturb others during the show; to keep the phone silence; to have some sort of background information, so that audiences can appreciate the show more and really understand what is going on on stage. When participating in a show, let's say you are not the main character, what is important is that you act your part well, in order to give the director more time for correcting or teaching the main actors for a better show, it is a teamwork thing. In my opinion, people like theaters because it is the way to relax, they can laugh, cry, show their emotions and feelings without caring about others' thoughts. Watching theater is the way for people to let out their inner feelings, no matter good or bad. I didn't really know theater before after I took this class, I feel like theater, acting, performing is really fun. Theater gives me a chance to be others, I have been always thought that can I ever be another person other than myself? Well, through theater, there's a yes for this question. I need to really understand and put myself into the character, I have to be him or her for a long time. I would say theater itself is a fun thing, and it makes people happy and sad (in a good way). Although it might be really hard to act, once you really understand the character, you will do a good job. And my advise for this as a student would be, try not to be yourself, not to think about yourself, for that whole time whenever it is rehearsing or performing, you are that character, only that character. The most important thing for performers to learn and think about is the transition between characters, make sure you are not too stuck with the character's world. Also, after each character that they act, what would be beneficial is to think about and learn from the characters, to see what you can get from a “fake” person. Also, learn from each performance to gain your own skills and abilities.
