FITM Performance Reflection

In our group, our theme was religion, we chose the Jewish holiday verbatim. Since there is only one main character in this scene, we decided to divide the lines. Although there is a little boy's one line, we count that as sort of conclusion thing. The major part of this scene is that Jewish can't touch electricity on Shabbas, otherwise they are againsting Torah. It shows that how important religion is to Jewish, they have to follow the faith, even people might think they are weird. It also shows that Jewish people at that time they have nothing else to do other than follow the Torah. We had an interesting thing which is the rolling chair, the reason why we use that is trying to differ from Denny who is acting for the African American boy. And trying to have us three have a feeling of talk. To each other, since we only have one women talked in the original book.
The second group which is Ivan, Cassidy, and Leslie's group. I think they had the most emotion towards their acting. They did a good job on acting, especially Cassidy. She really act out the anger of the man and how injustice and unfairness he feels by using her loud voice, gestures, and the changing of speaking speed. Also Ivan's performance is full of emotions that shows the anger of their theme which is violence and race issues. Leslie at the end was the only one who did not stand up and talk, she said she is doing like a interview thing.  I feel like it is a good idea to show the different between deifferent ages' people. (I remembered Leslie said she was acting an old man.)
The third group which is Jasmine, Jack, and Jacob. I like their choice of using the music which is the only group in our class who used background music to show the atmosphere. Jacob had the same part as Cassidy, so after Cassidy's performance I feel like Jacob's performance needs more emotion of anger. For Jasmine, I can hear her changing of voice and she is trying to show the anger of unfairness and injustices, but I can also feel that she didn't act fully out. Same thing for Jack, his voice is too low and he didn't stand up or come forward to speak, so I didn't hear clearly what he was saying. Also, there was music going on. My opinion for this group would be speak louder. But I really like their music idea.
