Reflect on your experience last week exploring Verbatim Theater. Why do you think people do it? What does it accomplish? What was your experience like (and your group's experience)? Was the process difficult? And if so, how so? Were any aspects easier than others? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? What did you learn?     

In my opinion, Verbatim theater is a really fun kind of theater, it changes a real-life thing into the theater and the actors act out, it is all based on truths. It took a long time to prepare. Before we performed, we had to interview, get some sort of elements, and even combine them into a story sort of thing. And then, the actors would have to observe the people that they are acting, either from the real-life or the specific video that they took of the people on a specific response/topic. I think people do it because it is more realistic in all kinds of interpretations. Also, there might be more people to see this kind of theater, because it is things that actually happened in their lives. It accomplishes that the attractiveness of those people who do not like theater to come and watch this kind of theater because what actors are acting were things that happened in the past that people might already be aware of. When our group was preparing for it, we went through a long process, the process went by really well, even we only had a limit amount of time. First, we came up with a couple questions, then we ask David Chau and record a video of him. Then, Cassidy did the script part. I think the most challenge part would be for the actor to study and copy the gestures and movements that the person have. Not only the acting part is hard, but also the analyzing all the information are hard too. To be honest, I was surprised that the asking question part was actually the easiest one for us. I really enjoy the progress of it, although I did not have a chance to finish the performance. I learned that although something is really small in our lives, it can always be enlarged and tell a whole story. Also, pay attention to all the details, they are really important. For theater or any kind of performances like this, would need a lot of details.
