How to best perform my scene
Since our group changed our script last week, to get equal time on stage for everyone. So, my characters would be both "Manman" from "Nineteen Thirty-Seven" and "Celianne" from "Children of The Sea." For Celianne, because she has no lines in our script, so I will do more acting on this character. Mostly emotional acting to show Celianne's sadness and to highlight that this character is an unfortunate character, and the only "sunshine" in her life, would be her child, but her child is dead. But, Celianne herself does not want to believe this sad news, so she thinks that she can not let her child suffer the bad things that she had been through before, so she jumped out of the boat with her just born child. Also, Celianne will live in most of the lines that David C. (acting the boy from "Children of the Sea") has, so I will act out everything that David has in his lines that is about Celianne. Especially the part where Celianne is always looking in the space and daydreaming and being hopelessness, and the highlighted part on this character would be that she jumped into the sea to end her tragic life.
For the character which is called "Manman," would be my main character for the how performance. I am mostly in the scene prison. This is also a character that has a tragic life. The difference between the two characters would be that Manman has Josephine to visit her and take care of her, but Celianne has no one there for her when she died. When Josephine (Cassidy) comes to prison to visit me, I will act out that Manman is trying to show Josephine that she is fine, but actually, she is dying and not feeling well. Also, she keeps trying to talk to Josephine about something else, and trying to tell Josephine to protect herself, and tells Josephine that how important Madonna is. When Josephine comes to the prison again to visit me, I will be kind of mean and act like do not want to talk to her that much, just keep telling her that keep the Madonna and leave. This is where I try to show that Manman wants Josephine not to depend on her, to let Josephine do not think of and speak of her that much after she is gone.
